Cop's truck full of empty White Claws found abandoned after wild ride
Seattle Officer Robert West is under investigation after his truck was spotted driving recklessly in Bonney Lake and found blocking someone's driveway.
A Seattle police officer is under investigation after his truck was found abandoned, damaged, and filled with empty cans of White Claw, according to a police report obtained by DivestSPD.
On April 25, a Bonney Lake police officer responded to a call at 7:30 a.m. about an abandoned vehicle at a property that was under construction. The owner found a white 2019 Chevrolet Silverado blocking his driveway. The registered owner was Seattle Officer Robert West.
The truck had its emergency lights on and was locked, but the officer could see several opened White Claw cans inside and found two unopened cans sitting on the ground by the passenger side. It also had “possible collision damage” on the front passenger side.
The Silverado matched the description of a vehicle seen driving recklessly on State Route 162 with no lights on nearly two hours before. The truck was reportedly swerving across lanes and almost hit the caller’s car.
The Bonney Lake officer had the truck towed out of concern that the driver “could be impaired.” He wrote that West was possibly seen entering an apartment building up the road. The report was forwarded to the Office of Police Accountability on the same day.
The OPA sustained another unprofessional conduct allegation against West for an incident that happened roughly two weeks before. West has another investigation into an alleged driving violation that’s still open after more than a year.
