Here in Seattle, we sadly have the typical type of cops, corrupt, amoral, and vice-ridden, just with REALLY good "paychecks". And ours have a particularly extensive knowledge base on how to use non-lethals in a way that is very much at odds with their "classification" . They definitely show us how much they love breaching the Geneva convention..
OK, if your sources are true and you’re not lying , these cops are bad but you’re not addressing the bigger issues. Why are they making so much money it’s because of overtime back in 2020 when most cities around the country defunded their police department a lot of cops left and the ones that stayed made a bunch of overtime. Los Angeles is going through the same exact problem. Mainly because some departments have mandatory overtime NYPD has it too.
Seattle never "defunded" its police department. Almost no cities reduced their police budgets significantly. Departments nationwide are indeed having trouble hiring, and many (Baltimore, LA) are adopting civilianization in response. SPD can't do that because the police guild blocks it. They even blocked civilian traffic flagging at events, which anyone could do, and is a major source of overtime. It's literally a racket.
